Solar Cycle 23 ended in 2007, and by now the sun should be displaying much more activity each month. Even though the new cycle 24 has kicked in, it remains in a minimum stage.

Monday, April 20, 2009 at 04:54PM It is forty three days and counting since the last spot was seen on the face of the sun. The increasing length of this cycle is becoming very similar to the solar cycles preceding the Dalton Minimum in the late 1700s and early 1800's.
