The Tea Party Movement Is Gaining Momentum

Don't look know but we have a full scale taxpayer revolt going on in the United States.
So far, more than 250,000 people have signed up to march online against high taxes and excessive government spending this week. Click on the following link if you would like to Join The March.
Meanwhile, The Tea Party Movement has a series of protests scheduled around the country and a massive march on Washington for tax day on April 15th.
The reason for all these taxpayer protests is the fiscal insanity that is currently being practiced inside the Belt Way in Washington D.C. The following news headline today tells the sad story: Congress sees no budget rush.
It seems like the Congressional Democrats are in no hurry to discuss a federal budget in this election year. The reality of all of this is that spending will eventually have to be cut and that taxes are going up to close the record budget deficits that the country is running.
It was interesting to note that in the last few days Bart Stupak has announced that he will not seek reelection. Stupaks decision came after he saw the increased probability of his defeat in November.
The Tea Party Express, (a group who opposed the federal spending in the Health Care Bill), had been calling for Stupak's defeat at several massive rallies in his sprawling northern Michigan district last week. It has also been running television and radio ads in his district.
Certainly, the Tea Party movement is gaining political momentum. A recent Rasmussen Poll showed that its political positions are currently more popular with American voters than Barack Obama's by 48-44%. But where did the Tea Party movement really begin? The seeds of this taxpayer revolt were in evidence during the last presidential election.
We wrote about the energy for real change in Washington D.C. in the article: The Ron Paul Revolution And Republican Renewal in May 2008. Since his election, Barack Obama's policies of hope and change just look like more of the same. The same old political patronage, party politics and out of control government spending that many in the country feel needs major reform.
It is why the Tea Party Movement is gaining momentum and Congressional Democrats are seeking a career change before the upcoming national elections.
