Eliminating The Dentist Drill And The Problem In Iran

Eliminating The Dentist Drill

Everyone visiting the dentist knows that sound. It can be heard in the waiting room before you even enter the dentists office.

The sound of the dentists drill is one of the most intimidating aspects of any dental visit.

The good news is that the dentist drill may soon become a thing of the past. According to a report in the Mail Online.

Researchers have recently discovered a new technique in which teeth are treated with acid gel squirted from a syringe.

First, a rubber 'collar' is placed around the target tooth to protect its neighbours. The four-inch syringe then applies a spot of the gel to the discoloured and decaying part.

Within a couple of minutes the acid etches through the enamel into the cavity below, which is then cleaned then dried using ethanol. FInally, the dentist injects a quick-drying resin into the hole which hardens quickly under a high-energy blue light.

The finished filling looks like normal tooth enamel and the whole process takes just 15 minutes. Sounds exciting to me.

The Problem In Iran

The following news story is being reported by Reuters this morning:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for immediate and crippling sanctions against Iran on Tuesday, on the day it began making higher-grade nuclear fuel.

"Iran is rushing forward to produce nuclear weapons...I believe that what is required right now is tough action by the international community," Netanyahu told European diplomats. "This means crippling sanctions and these sanctions must be applied right now."

Iran's current level of enrichment only produces uranium that can be used in nuclear power stations. However, Iran has just announced that it will soon be enriching uranium to 20 per cent.  As a result, Iran will be taking a significant step towards producing the highly enriched uranium that is used to make atom bombs.

In addition, Iran has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna that it intends to build another 10 uranium enrichment plants.

There will be no crippling sanctions forthcoming against Iran in the future in the United Nations. China continues to veto any sanctions. The United Nations has once again proven to be an International failure in resolving conflict.

The ongoing problem of nuclear enrichment in Iran will either be resolved through an internal overthrow of the current regime or a strike by Israel against the Iranian nuclear facilities.

The odds of a strike by Israel before the end of 2010 is increasing in order to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions. Such a nuclear strike, would throw the Middle East into chaos.

The stock market would lose 2000 points on the day of the strike and would probably provide a unique and compelling long term buying opportunity. It would be wise to hold positions in gold (Newmont Mining) and oil for price appreciation since these commodities have excellent long term fundamentals and would at least temporarily spike in price.
