A Winter Olympics Without Snow And Iran

Unusually warm weather for January in Vancouver has led to a shortage of snow for the Cypress Mountain venue. Watch the main stream media blame man-made global warming for this weather.

The following story is from Reuters:

Truckloads of Snow Dumped on Melting Olympic Mountain

"With the Winter Games set to open in just 10 days, Vancouver Organizing Committee chief John Furlong told the media that everything was under control at Cypress Mountain venue, which will stage snowboard and freestyle competitions.

But despite Furlong's assurance, the situation has grown increasingly desperate with crews taking the extraordinary step of transporting snow nearly two hours from Allison Pass - which is about 150 km east of from Vancouver."

Iran

As we have written several times during the last two years (see below), the issues in Iran are not going away. The latest news on the Iranian nuclear problem is written by the Guardian.co.u.k as follows:

"Tension between the US and Iran heightened dramatically on Monday with the disclosure that Barack Obama is deploying a missile shield to protect American allies in the Gulf from attack by Tehran.

The US is dispatching Patriot defensive missiles to four countries – Qatar, United Arab Emirates,Bahrain, and Kuwait – and keeping two ships in the Gulf capable of shooting down Iranian missiles. Washington is also helping Saudi Arabia develop a force to protect its oil installations.

American officials said the move is aimed at deterring an attack by Iran and reassuring Gulf states fearful that Tehran might react to sanctions by striking at US allies in the region. Washington is also seeking to discourage Israel from a strike against Iran by demonstrating that the US is prepared to contain any threat."

The prospect of meaningful sanctions in the United Nations against Iran are finished and so is the hope of stopping Iran from becoming a nuclear power without the use of force. So, the administration instead is deploying a shield to protect our Gulf allies.

In a candid admission of the Middle East problem, Obama has recently stated, "The Middle East peace process has not moved forward and I think it's fair to say, for all our efforts at early engagement, [it] is not where I want it to be," he told Time magazine.

Obama continued, "This is just really hard … This is as intractable a problem as you get. If we had anticipated some of these political problems on both sides earlier, we might not have raised expectations as high."

With the Obama foreign policy in disarray, watch for an escalation of the Iranian conflict with the west in the days ahead. The United Nations has failed to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions and Israeli security cannot sit by and wait for them to obtain a nuclear bomb.
